WOW!

That'd be ideal.

whomever acquires burly will offer arb

Buehrle's not still arby eligible, is he? This year is his sixth full season.

Is it that if you trade someone, they're automatically arb. eligible?

BlackSox - Jun 26, 2007 9:59 pm (#2753 of 2986) Reply

If we dealt Jose-C for good prospects, and used the money saved to sign Buehrle, I'd be a Mets fan for life.

Well, not a fan, but certainly a well-wisher.

Marlins acquire Jacque Jones?

NonJeter - Jun 26, 2007 10:03 pm (#2755 of 2986) Reply

(Re Jacque) Looks like it. Sox missed out! I'm going to miss the hilarious trashing he and Barrett took on BBF, Desipio, and Hire Jim Essian. At least Izturis and Scott Eyre are still on the roster.

Buehrle for Jackson, Gwynn, and a low-minors kid.

Yovanni Gallardo would be nice.

All free agents are Arb eligible. The team that they are leaving MUST offer arbitration in order to receive compensation for them leaving. Otherwise they get Nada. The FA can then pick arbitration or sign a contract, if he signs with another team, compensation kicks in.

Hire Jim Essian

Best website name ever.

Quite a turnaround here...

glad to hear it, too.

What a pleasant surprise.

Maybe that was KW's plan all along. Let it be known that he was looking to move Mark to make him stop and say, "okay, okay I give. I want to stay here, let's see if we can work something out."

Oh happy day!

It says here he couldn't get what he perceived to be sufficient value for Buehrle.

I was unavailable.

This is my "sassy" look....

NonJeter - Jun 27, 2007 3:22 pm (#2765 of 2986) Reply

Sassy!

The Sluggin' Sooner would be his-own-topic-worthy over on the Tigers board. That would be good times.

Elsewhere, color me disappointed that Gonzalez didn't get the silent treatment after his first roundtripper. Looked like AJ and Dye had something else up their sleeves though.

You could pull a bar trick on Greg Norton, but you'd still end up buying him drinks.

NonJeter - Jun 27, 2007 3:55 pm (#2767 of 2986) Reply

Greg Norton squeezes the toothpaste tube anywhere he goddamn well pleases and f*** you if you have a problem with that.

Score reporting that Burly-mon has signed for 4 years/50 million.

Excellent value for the Sox.
